近日，英国兰开夏中央大学孔子学院举办了中文诗歌比赛。兰开夏郡的弗兰克.皮尔森（Frank Pearson）先生和坎布里亚郡的朱莉.卡兰（Julie Callan）女士胜出，获孔院奖励，并由孔院推荐参加全球网络大赛。他们的诗歌推陈出新，中为洋用，既运用中国读者耳熟能详的词汇、象征和韵脚来向中国诗歌传统致敬，又运用西方读者喜闻乐见的中国元素来抒发超越时空的人类情怀。皮尔森先生的诗歌大气磅礴，意境深远，表达了锲而不舍的生活态度和“上天入地”的探索精神。卡兰女士的诗歌情真意切，意象生动，反映了对动物、对自然、对故土和生命本源的深切关注。

1. CLIMBING THE YELLOW MOUNTAIN
The sun beyond the mountain does glow;
Into the sea hundreds of rivers flow.
I am pulling myself onto Peak Lotus,
Feeling prouder than any kings and dukes.
2. CAVING
A winding path leads downward
To a deep, deep cave in the wild.
Don’t laugh at me as an insane caver
I do enjoy the sky-scape underground.

昔日栖息竹林峰，
今朝移居苏州城。
乘舟低吟思乡曲，
运河流水作和声。

What miracle, or freak, of nature
brought them here?
Transported from the bamboo forest,
where we know they all belong,
to the canal ways of Old Suzhou.

What on earth's going on?
It just looks so wrong.
Though surely we could all try
to get along.
The pandas merge so perfectly
with Suzhou black ‘n’ whites.
Camouflage against the unsuspecting.
